Character History
Before the Minutemen
Some time in the early months of 1939, it was reported that someone who dressed up as a moth was seen gliding in the air in Connecticut.
With the Minutemen
Byron Lewis joined The Minutemen as Mothman in 1939. He was constantly trembling, most notably in a photograph reunion in 1940. In the late 40s, after the deaths of The Silhouette and Dollar Bill and the departure of Silk Specture, the remaining Minutemen decided to "call it a day" due to the lack of women and interesting villains.
Alcoholism
During the 50s, he had to testify and disclose his identity before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which lead to lengthy and ruthless investigations. This put him under pressure, which beckoned him to start drinking excessively. In 1962, he attended a reunion at Sally's house along with Nelson Gardner and Hollis Mason. Much to the puzzlement of a young Laurie Juspeczyk, Byron was drunk and delirious.
He was eventually put away in a sanitarium in Maine.
